PROMOTION

O.K., I'm sold.  Blogs must be the way to go for promotion outside your own little circle of friends or your own community.  A dear writer friend in CA posts daily and among her promotions are words and pictures about her novels.  No, she does not have a big name publisher, and by her own word, she "barely breaks even" on sales, but she belogs to and/or retains contacts with mystery writers (my favorites of her books are the Tempe Crabtree series.  They are mysteries but not bloody ones, in which Tempe, the only woman on the small town law enforcement  team, is the one (of course) to solve the mystery.  She travels everywhere and anywhere to promote her books.  Sometimes she sells no more than a couple, but she persists.

Marilyn Meredith, the above-mentioned author, also puts out a monthly newsletter in which she regales anybody who wants to tune in on her adventures going out to speak on writing and the ups and downs of her extensive family.  These missives help readers get to know her.  They are valuable.  Be advised, you will hear more of this sort from me.As with most of you, I felt that I do not have time for DAILY BLOGS.

However, I'm going to give it a shot and I hope you will to.  A few words here about my book, Just Pencil Me In, Your Guide To Moving & Getting Settled After 60. In its pages are tips anybody can use–from college age on up.  They are the guidelines that have seen me happily through ten years of eight moves–and those are just the moves since I turned 70.  Not counting the moves that have placed me in six counties in California–before moving here to Arizona.

Thanks for listening.  Tomorrow's another Blog day!  Willma Gore
