Sunday Snipits
Observation over the top of my laptop this morning presnted an unusual scene: Moving gray rocks! I hurried to the bigger window to see more clearly. The "moving gray rocks" was a herd of javelinas (pecaries) that I'm told are "residents" here but this is the first time I've seen them. I countedt five of them, but smaller ones may have been hidden by the brush and grass on "my" hillside. The only sighting I have had previous is a single small one who came about a year ago to my bird-bath that sits on the ground beneath the tree just outside my porch. This experience will be stored for possible later use in a story or essay. I doubt that a story featuring javelinas would be right for the Chicken Soup series, but note my next paragraph.
You have an essay about your mother, your father, your brother and/or your pets that you have tried and tried to place but have not yet found a buyer. We are urged to send such pieces to publishers of anthologies. At this time, the Chicken Soup For The Soul series is calling for stories about our dogs or cats that will be published in an up-coming anthology , Chicken Soup For The Dog (Cat) Lover's Soul . Go to www.chickensoupforthesoul.com for current and up-coming needs.
Until tomorrow, Willma
