Over the past 40 years I have led or participated in writer workshops, sometimes called "critique groups."  I prefer "workshop" to "critique" because the latter term tends to make some new members shy of offering to read their work.  I welcome all kinds of writing, including poetry.  Though I have sold and had published a number of poems I do not consider myself able to adequately evaluate modern poetry.  Questions came to me a couple of weeks ago as to how  I organize my  groups and  the various protocols I've established that seem to be working for the five groups I now lead.

Each group meets twice a month on either the 1st and 3rd Tuesday, Wednesday,Thursday, Friday  or those days during the  2nd and 4th  weeks in the month.  When there is a 5th week, we are dark.  This simplifies notification whereas meeting on alternate weeks can confuse everybody..
