Weekday Blog-promised for yesterday

Fellow Writers:  I'd promised to restore five-day-a-week blogs, but yesterday (Friday) got away before I could catch up with it.  Surgery last Monday, return home on Thursday, at the computer on Friday in time to learn that my little story "Feline Fortitude" has been accepted by the Chick Soup people for publication in their next anthology, What I Learned From The Cat–out in September. (Pay is $200 and 10 copies)

Today's blog reviews a visit from a treasured California writer friend. We renewed endorsement of writer workshops.  After we met for the first time in High Desert branch, California Writers Club, in Apple Valley, (about 1992), she, who had never attended an in-home workshop, came to mine in the San Bernardino Mountains, in the little community of Crestline.  She is helping High Desert branch get reorganized since its near collapse.  The important thing about Ann (in addition to the fact that she is a great person and great writer), is that she has had published a dozen children's books–fantasy stuff.  She has a screen animation under consideration by a Canada company, and is searching for representation for her adventure/mystery novel.  As you can imagine, the air between us was filled with words of great help to us both.

The only "instruction," today, if any of my blogs offer such, is that enthusiasm–and marketing–are contagious.  We help each other through workshop and friend-shop contacts.  Never give up on any–Willma
