More on Anthologies
Yesterday I directed you to www.Threetreepublishing.com as a place to submit your family stories. Be sure to look at ALL the guidelines. Pay is an honorarium of $50. I'm not sure I understand all the rules and regulations, and have inquired further. If the organization takes ALL RIGHTS in exchange for a $50 honorarium, I'm not sure I want to participate. Always read ALL THE FINE PRINT for any contest or offering.
Recently my "Dancing On The Waters" was accepted by a Florida-based anthology publisher. Due me is $50 but they are not taking all rights. Chick Soup has offered a contract for my "Feline Fortitude," but from others who have published there, I learn that even a signed contract does not gurantee publication. Sometimes a Ms (for length, emphasis, etc.) may find itself "on the cutting room floor." However, the offer there is $200. If they request it, I'd let all rights go for that price.
Still another anthology that has held an essay for a year,(Sniplits), reports that they are not publishing this year afterall and that I will hear later.
Be wary. It takes all kinds. Blog-hugs to all, Willma
