Suggestion

Among the plethora of on-line material I receive daily via e-mail are a few gems that I find truly helpful.  Of the helpful ones is Writers Relief, Inc.  It comes out of Hakensack New Jersey and how they found me, I do not know. Nonetheless, I'm glad they did and today's newsletter brings good information I'd like to pass along.

Under the title, "Top Five Ways To Get More Acceptances,"  Ronnie Smith, president, lists the importance of making your query letter look good, properly formatted and proofread.  Smith also suggests that we not take the "blanket approach" to submitting.  Be selective.  Note the guidelines to publications and adhere to them. And the one I think is most improtant: MAKE SUBMITTING PART OF YOUR WRITING HABIT.

I  try to submit three different articles or queries a week.  I do not always achieve this but daily I look through my lists of available essays, stories and comb the markets to see where something form my files may fit.  I enter a lot of contests and have lately been submitting to anthologies where I find that some of the pieces in my files fit the subject matter required by these anthologies.

Here is the website for Writer's Relief.  Go to www.writersrelifblog.com for more information and learn the details of all five ways to get more acceptances.  Until tomorrow, Willma
