TGIF

No matter what the day of the week, I am privileged the past three weeks to receive e-mailed accounts of the travels of friends driving up the ALCAN highway.    How Robert finds time to report on the scenery, animals, restaurants and housing he and his wife are enjoying tells me he must spend his mid-night hours on the computer.  His accounts report "the good, the bad, and the ugly" with a great sense of humor .  I know this man from my days on the California Central Coast where he and wife make their home and where I led a workshop that he attended.  With encouragement from the group he sent  travel/hiking stories to the local paper and got many by-lines (and small pay, as I recall.)

I hope that Robert will gather these accounts into a book.  At least, I know he is saving them–as I am.  When he returns to "civilization" I will try to make suggestions to him for getting his accounts published.  Meanwhile, he writes that "Canadians are the friendliest people on earth."  Maybe a Canadian publication would like to have his words??  I'll certainly suggest this.  –Willma
