Possible Markets
10/21/09– Among the market suggestions I provided in handouts to this morning's workshop are a two that may be of interest to others out there in blogland.
The Threepenny Review is a quarterly review of arts and society, broader than simply a report on an upcoming event. Each issue contains new poetry, short fiction, personal mamoir and essays. Pays $400 per story or article, $200 per poem or "Table Talk" piece. Each contributor also receives a year's subscription. See http://www.threepennyreview.com/submissions.html
Virginia Quarterly Review publishes four times a year–fiction, nonfiction, poetry. Pays $5 per line for poetry, minimum of $200 per poem. Prose pays approximately 20 cents per word. Work published on the website pays at a lower rate, but pays! See: http://www.vqronline.org./submission/introduction/
Try either of these. I plan to try both.–Willma
