WRITING NEWS from me is meager, but two of my "protoges" (people I've encouraged to submit to Home Forum at C.S. Monitor) report sales for this Christmas season.  One is published today–a short piece in the "Over the Hedge Section." These are under 200 words and cite a humorous or poignant personal experience.  I encourage any of you to check www.csmonitor.com and scroll to the Home Forum pages.  These Over the Hedge pieces pay $75.  The other piece accepted ia an essay–pending.

Although I am not quite up to "submission speed" yet, the first of my return-to-workshop meetings will take place this afternoon here in myapartment and I have two meetings next week. I'm not as agile as I'd like to be, but I get around o.k. with a cane and am able to respond to e-mails and blog entries.  Thanks to those who read me.

At today's Sedona Serious Scribes' meeting, I will read a couple of chapters from my novel, When Coyote Smiles.  Although this novel has already gone to the agent, the sharp Scribes always catch something I've missed.  Can't do without them!
